A primitive ancestor to a watch, a pole driven into the ground measuring time by casting a shadow, makes it possible to determine an agenda for the day. It is followed by a range of new, improved timepieces to finally give us the currently most popular quartz movement. It is said that the happy know no hours … and it’s true. It’s the accurate watch that does it for them.
A watch to keep tabs on time
It's hard to imagine a productive day without a time frame set by a watch. It helps us to set time for work and for pleasure, efficiently calculate the time needed to cook a meal or reminds us of an upcoming visit to a doctor.
When an hour is not enough
Apart from the basic feature of measuring time, premium watches offer for the date to be displayed as well. It allows you to check the day of the month or even the week in one quick glance.
How the date is displayed may vary - from the most common "window" in which a digit or number indicating the day of the month appears, to additional discs of smaller sizes showing the day of the month and day of the week separately.
One of the most advanced solutions is perpetual calendar (which has been jokingly dubbed ‘a complication’ by some watchmakers). This mechanism allows you to use the date window (or disc) without the need to change dates in the months that have less than 31 days. The change is also not needed for February, regardless of whether it has 28 or 29 days in a given year.
This is all thanks to the so-called mechanical memory, designed for a 4-year sequence of months. Purchased and set today, a perpetual calendar watch will not need reseting until March 2100! They are called maintenance-free watches for a reason.
When your watch has to keep up with you
The chronograph is an additional feature in a watch, which, put simply, is nothing more than a stopwatch. It can be operated by the main face of the watch - then it can measure time with the second hand in the space of a minute. More complex models have separate dials for chronograph measurements, thanks to which it is possible to measure the passage of time not only in seconds, but also in minutes or hours.
The step counter is a premium feature, especially important for physically active users. It helps to determine the length of your weekend walk route as well as indicate the degree of daily activity. It is an irreplaceable tool supporting your journey to a better shape and slimmer figure.
When a watch isn’t only a timepiece
High quality craftsmanship and precious stones used for the manufacturing of exclusive watches means they are less and less regarded as timepieces - they make both everyday and elegant outfits pop out.
Nothing attracts our gaze more than a diamond-studded dial in a luxury watch. In more low-key versions, we can find them at the base of the hours, or as a circle embracing the dial. The most extravagant models have a dial entirely covered with precious stones. The tiniest sun rays are translated into thousands of tiny reflections, effectively drawing everybody’s attention to the owner’s wrist.
Another element clearly complimenting your "look" is a bracelet. It is an elegant alternative to a classic fabric or leather belt. However, that doesn't mean you can't style it with sportswear clothes. Just throw on classic, one-color weaves, that don’t have extra embellishments or a combination of fabrics.
When a watch becomes your friend
When looking for a model for yourself or as a gift for a loved one, it is worth reaching for a luxury watch. It will not only enable precise measuring of time, but will also bring out your look. Majority of them have a timeless design that never goes out of fashion and goes with almost every outfit.
Premium watches are commodities made by specialists who uphold and cultivate the craftsmanship and precision of watchmaking. Attention to the highest quality of materials used in their production makes them an investment for years to come. They can be passed down from generation to generation, making a stylish accessory as well as a priceless family heirloom.
Investment in an exclusive watch is an investment in a faithful and ... lifelong friend who will be there for you every step of the way!
